MCEDC is moving to new home at McHenry County College

MCEDC to relocate to MCC campus in January

The McHenry County Economic Development Corp. is moving to a new home!

It will be relocating with the new year to the McHenry County College campus, alongside the Illinois Small Business Development Center, therefore bringing two local organizations dedicated to business and economic growth together.

The MCEDC is a public/private partnership that collaborates with industry, government and the community to foster relationships and build networks and partnerships. The ISBDC offers numerous services to local business, such as free one-on-one advising, assistance with business plan development, workshops, and more.

Bringing both groups under one roof will create a powerhouse of business resources, with the added bonus of getting to show off all of MCC’s job training and trades programs – including the new Foglia Center for Advanced Technology and Innovation!

Annual Keltner Blood Drive takes place Jan. 11

The Jake Keltner Memorial Blood Drive is returning for a sixth year to give people the opportunity to honor a fallen hero by giving the gift of life.

The drive takes place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, and once again will be generously hosted by the Sage YMCA, 701 Manor Road, Crystal Lake. It’s super easy to register – visit www.redcrossblood.org/give.html/donation-time, type in the code “KELTNER” in the ZIP code box, and select a time you would like to donate.

Donors have given more than 1,000 units of blood in the history of the drive – let’s start 2025 out right by making it another great year for donations.

The program is completely voluntary, but it may be beneficial for some taxpayers depending on their financial situations or personal objectives.
