World Business Chicago tours General Kinematics

Last Thursday, the General Kinematics plant in Crystal Lake graciously hosted a tour for visitors from World Business Chicago, the McHenry County EDC, and officials from Crystal Lake and McHenry County government.

World Business Chicago brought together McHenry County, the collar counties, and Cook County and the City of Chicago, into the Greater Chicagoland Economic Partnership, which unites our efforts to draw new businesses and investment by touting our unmatched combined infrastructure, economy, and skilled workforce. But what you may not know is that the collaboration and economic incentives offered by GCEP and the MCEDC helped assist General Kinematics’ expansion, adding more jobs and opportunities.

Thank you to WBC for coming out to visit, and thank you to General Kinematics and Project Management Group Vice President Randy Smith, for graciously hosting our visitors.

First installment of McHenry County property taxes due today

Yes, we know it’s a buzzkill throwing in a story about property tax bills in an issue packed with summer fun, but we don’t want to see anyone end up past due.

The first installment of McHenry County property taxes is due today. You can pay online, by phone, or in person at the Treasurer’s Office or a number of participating local banks. Click here to learn more about all the ways available to pay; however, it’s too late to mail in the first installment – your payment must be received no later than today to avoid late fees.

As a reminder, the second and final tax installment is due Sept. 10.
