Chicago region named top business location site for 10th straight year

For the 10th consecutive year, Site Selection Magazine has named the Chicago region the top metropolitan area in the US for business site selection and corporate relocation.

The magazine reported that the Chicago metro area saw a record number of new and expanding corporate locations, beating out every other region in the nation.

Among the advantages cited in the magazine’s ranking was the recent launch of the Greater Chicagoland Economic Partnership. The organization unites McHenry County with Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, and Will counties, and the City of Chicago, into an alliance to promote regional economic development and enhance our collective participation in the global economy.

Site Selection Magazine, according to its website, publishes information to help business expansion planners make informed decisions. It recently named Illinois the number one state in the Midwest for workforce development.

Industry breakfast touts. Advance McHenry County successes

High School District 155 recently had an industry breakfast bringing together students and business leaders to demonstrate the success of the Career Experiences Program.

The program, funded through a $1.5 million Advance McHenry County grant, provides D-155 students with an opportunity to explore careers they’re interested in before they graduate high school. Click here to watch a video highlighting the program.

Students from each D-155 school eloquently discussed their experiences, and took advantage of the gathering to network with local business leaders. We never get tired of seeing the fruit being borne through the Advance McHenry County program, which invests federal COVID-19 relief funding directly into thoughtful and impactful community programs.
