American Veterans Traveling Tribute Wall coming to Harvard
The Harvard Chamber of Commerce and Industry is bringing the American Veterans Traveling Tribute Wall to town.
Harvard will be the only city in Illinois to feature all 211 panels of the traveling wall, which honors the dead from both world wars, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, the War on Terror, the Sept. 11 attacks, and other battles and tragedies.
The free display, accessible 24 hours a day, will be up from Sept. 8 to Sept 11 at Milky Way Park, 300 Lawrence Road.
Chamber President Crystal Musgrove has wanted to bring the wall to Harvard
since she started 14 years ago.
“We wanted the entire wall – not just bits and pieces – to honor the fallen and educate the community about everyone who made that sacrifice,” Musgrove said.
The chamber is in need of volunteers to help maintain a 24-hour presence at the wall. If you would like to volunteer, email Musgrove at
info@harvcc.net.
