PACE delivers MCRIDE vehicle (and funding) to McHenry County

Pace Suburban Bus delivered McHenry County a brand-new 28-foot bus for its groundbreaking MCRide dial-a-ride service – and more funding, too!
Besides the new bus, Pace has committed to increase its paratransit funding this year for the collar counties by 15%. And on top of that, Pace provided McHenry County an additional $200,000 investment.
McHenry County last year expanded MCRide to cover the entire county – it was the first collar county to do so. Scheduling a ride through the service is quick, easy and very affordable – click here to learn more.

Metra significantly expanding service on McHenry County line

Metra is ramping up service along the Union Pacific-Northwest Line as riders return to a regular weekday commute – and just in time to avoid road construction season!
Starting Monday, April 25, Metra will increase weekday service from 45 to 66 daily train trips. The new schedule, which you can find by clicking here, also offers more consistent patterns and times.
This is good news for commuters and county businesses alike – thank you to Metra for making this happen!

Woodstock Farmers Market turns 40 this year

The renowned Woodstock Farmers Market is returning to the Square this Saturday for its 40th year!
The market will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays on the Square, with Tuesday markets starting on May 3. You can find the list of this year’s vendors and entertainment by visiting the market on Facebook.
The American Farmland Trust last year named the Woodstock Farmers Market, and the Farmers Market+ at The Dole in Crystal Lake, as two of the top five farmers’ markets in the entire Midwest.
Even though Woodstock, the Dole, and other markets maintain winter operations, McHenry County’s farmers markets really come into their element with the return of warm weather. Our friends at Naturally McHenry County have a list you can check out by clicking here.
