DCEO announces $350M in federal funding to help IL small business

The Treasury Department announced last week that Illinois will receive up to $354.6 million to support small businesses through the State Small Business Credit Initiative.

Funding will allow Illinois to expand access to capital for small businesses to start up and to expand their operations.

The money will further augment the existing Advantage Illinois Loan Participation Program, as well as create three new programs – the Advantage Illinois Loan Guarantee Program, they INVENT Venture Capital Program, and the Climate Bank Finance Loan Participation Program.

IMEC looking for Advance-funded manufacturing grant applicants

The Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center is looking for applicants for its manufacturer grant program!

Funded through a $1.39 million Advance McHenry County award, the grant program provides technical assistance and training solutions to help McHenry County manufacturers rebound from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Workforce Partners offering inclusive employment seminars

The Workforce Partners of Metropolitan Chicago is offering two virtual training sessions in December and January to explain how inclusive employment can benefit your business.

The free seminar is 90 minutes long, and will show how businesses that are looking to attract and retain quality employees in a challenging labor market can benefit from strategies that seek to attract workers from diverse backgrounds and populations.

Seminars are scheduled for 8 a.m. this Thursday, Dec. 15 (click here to register), and 8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10 (click here to register).

County residents give generously for Toys for Tots

Once again, the people of McHenry County have opened up their hearts, and their wallets, to help ensure that every child gets a toy this Christmas.

County employees and visitors filled seven boxes at McHenry County government offices with unwrapped gifts for less-fortunate children! Thank you to everyone for their generosity – you helped Toys for Tots celebrate its 75th birthday in style!

While the deadline to donate toys at drop locations has passed – they need time to wrap them all! – Toys for Tots of McHenry County accepts monetary donations year round.


 

The Nutcracker returns to Woodstock Opera House for Christmas

The Woodstock Opera House and the Judith Svalander School of Ballet are again inviting you to join them for the beloved holiday tradition of The Nutcracker!

Come enjoy the magic of the season as the ballet artists transform the Opera House stage into a realm of fantasy, and experience Clara’s magical journey to Tchaikovsky’s world-renowned musical works.
