Naturally McHenry County publishes its 2023 Insider Guide

Naturally McHenry County’s 2023 Insider Guide is now available!

To put it bluntly, it’s 48 pages of awesome.

Colorful and eye-catching, the guide is a bible of McHenry County seasonal events, annual festivals, agritourism, theater and entertainment venues, fine dining and drinking, boutique stores, family fun, wedding planning and more!

While the guide is always a great read, it’s made even greater (in our arrogant opinion) with the new rebranding that won Naturally McHenry County statewide recognition for its 2022 guide.

Did we mention that the Insider guide is free? You can get a copy at your favorite McHenry County business, or request a copy by clicking here. Or, if you just can’t wait, you can download a digital copy here.

The ranking, announced by Site Selection magazine, recognizes “states that performed well in a set of measures that gauge workforce-related aspect of states’ overall employment climate.”

The magazine, according to its website, publishes information to help business expansion planners make informed decisions. Illinois was ranked number two in the Midwest the previous year.

USGS publishes 10-year McHenry County water quality report

The U.S. Geological Survey has published a new water quality report for McHenry County based on data they collected from the county’s network of groundwater monitoring wells in 2020.

McHenry County is forward thinking when it comes to our water supply, which comes exclusively from aquifers. In 2009, the county drilled a countywide network of monitoring wells and partnered with the USGS to monitor levels and conduct a water quality report every decade.

You can click here to learn more and to read the 2020 report.

Goods galore are on display at the Huntley Farmers Market

Huntley’s farmers market, like its counterparts in Crystal Lake and Woodstock, doesn’t hibernate through winter.

From November through May, the Huntley Farmers Market relocates indoors. Starting this year, thanks to growing demand, it relocated to a larger home at the Fellowship Hall of First Congregational Church.

Huntley’s indoor market takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. the second Saturday of each month at the church, 11628 E. Main St.

Click here for a list of vendors that will be selling their wares this weekend, and be sure to follow them on Facebook! When warm weather returns, they’ll return to Huntley’s downtown square every Saturday through October.
