‘Wonderful Places… Wide Open Spaces’

The Naturally McHenry County rebranding logo looks so good, it merited its own story.
The new logo was inspired by the many unique traits that define McHenry County. Font choices reflect an old-time feel of vintage labels and hand-crafted goods, while the colors and overall design reflects the county’s strong agricultural roots and easygoing way of life.
The tagline of “Wonderful Places – Wide Open Spaces” conveys McHenry County’s diverse mix of cities, towns and villages nestled amongst rivers, lakes and conservation areas.
Each of the three main users – Naturally McHenry County, the Economic Development Corp. and McHenry County Government – will be rolling it out in the coming months, so be on the lookout!

People in Need Forum, now virtual, set for January 29

McHenry County College is once again hosting the annual People in Need Forum to inform the public about the many resources and services available to county residents needing assistance.
Like last year, the forum will be held virtually due to the ongoing surge in COVID-19 cases.
The free event, from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 29, showcases important community resources and workshops on issues such as immigration, senior care, caregiver resources, food insecurity, mental health, employment and many more. Besides helping people seeking assistance, the forum is an excellent resource and networking opportunity for social service agencies, faith-based organizations, civic groups, law enforcement, elected officials and others.
Visit www.mchenry.edu/pin to pre-register and get the link to virtually attend. The webpage also contains a downloadable PDF, in English and Spanish, of the most current directory of local resources. For more information, contact Jessica Rizza at 815-455-8556, or by email at jrizza@mchenry.edu.

Appointments now required for county-run COVID testing center
