2021 Business Champion Awards Nomination/Applications Are Now Open

McHenry County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) is accepting nominations for the 2021 Business Champion Awards.   Since 2008, MCEDC has recognized over 50 outstanding companies through our Business Champion Awards. In recognition of the pandemic, this year’s Business Champion awards will also be open to previous business champion award winners.

Many companies in the area adapted to the adverse conditions we found ourselves in by changing production to materials that contributed to the effort to slow the advance of the virus.

If you have a supplier or customer that you find exceptional or if you are an employee who feels your employer went the extra mile to help the employees especially during the pandemic, please send us your nomination.   As a CEO or a member of the executive team of a company that is proud of recent expansion, acquisition, special project or growth, your self-nominations would also be welcomed. Nominations are being accepted for the 2021 Business Champion Awards until September 24th.

All nominees are introduced during the MCEDC Annual Dinner Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at the Holiday Inn in Crystal Lake.  The 2021 Business Champions will be announced at the dinner and presented with their awards by our keynote speaker, John Cain, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Scot Forge.

Business Champion nominations categories are based on the number of employees – small -24 or less, medium – 25 to 100, large – over 100, as well as a special category for those companies who have over 300 employees. The winners will be chosen by a panel of Judges, which is made up of business leaders from outside of the county.

Jim McConoughey, MCEDC President stated “MCEDC’s previous Business Champions are all exceptional primary employers and valuable corporate citizens. We look forward to adding those who went the extra mile in response to the pandemic to this prestigious list of McHenry County employers”.

The deadline for submitting Business Champion nominations is September 24th.  Additional information and forms are available on the MCEDC website home page – mchenrycountyedc.com or by contacting the MCEDC office at 815.893-0895.
